Network Administrator Job Description

About the Network Administrator position

We are looking for a skilled Network Administrator to help maintain a reliable٫ secure and efficient data communications network in our company. Your duties will also include providing technical support to personnel and develop suggestions on how to optimize the existing infrastructure.

You should be able to deploy٫ configure٫ maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Network Administrator responsibilities are:

• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
• Support٫ configure٫ maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
• Monitor the existing infrastructure٫ detecting necessity for updates and ensuring security and connectivity
• Install٫ maintain and administer third-party applications
• Monitor network performance (including such metrics as availability٫ utilization٫ throughput٫ goodput٫ and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Troubleshoot problems reported by end user
• Manage user accounts٫ permissions and passwords
• Review and optimize network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Develop recommendations on server system administration

Network Administrator requirements are:

• 3+ years' experience of working on a Network Administrator position
• Significant experience in networking٫ routing and switching and server hardware setup and configuration
• Significant experience with firewalls٫ Internet VPN’s remote implementation٫ troubleshooting٫ and problem resolution is desired
• Good practical experience with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Familiarity with best practices of management٫ control٫ and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Strong organizational٫ prioritising and multitasking skills
• Juniper٫ Cisco٫ CWNA or BCNE training
• BSc degree in Computer Science or other related area
